The Photographer

TROY SALISBURY, PHOTOGRAPHER/OWNER

Troy's love for photography began developing at age 14 when he constructed his first pinhole camera and developed his first black and white print. Troy's passion escalated in the interest in landscape and nature photography. In 1992, he was offered a position as a photo lab technician for a national photo processing center. In 1998, Troy took a greater interest in photographing people and decided to photograph professionally. He obtained his Photography Certification from the University of South Florida in 2005 and started Photographic Memories of Tampa Bay, LLC at the beginning of 2007. Just recently, it was renamed to Michael Troy Photography, LLC to give match the personal touch that all of his clients receive from his portrait services.

Troy's equipment includes a Nikon N80 and Canon AE-1, when he shoots black and white 35mm film, and a Nikon D300 and D200 for digital work. He uses a variety of lighting techniques using strobes, soft boxes and incorporating ambient light when necessary to create the perfect photograph.

"I take my job as a photographer seriously. Photographs have the ability to preserve history, relive precious moments, and change lives through powerful images. Memories fade over time, but photographs last forever."
